More times than we would care to count, people have written us asking to reprint portions of the White Wolf books on our site, or send them this information through email. Please do not write us and ask us for these things - the answer is NO.
Thanks to the miracle of e-commerce and the World Wide Web, there is no reason that anyone in the world cannot obtain a copy of the White Wolf books they desire. There is the matter of poverty, we suppose - but then, those who are too poor to purchase the books are probably also too poor to be spending their time playing roleplaying games.
We support White Wolf 100%, and will not be party to damaging their sales by giving away their copyrighted materials for free. Sanguinus Curae is intended to be an aid and companion to the game, allowing storytellers and players to share the ideas that Vampire: the Masquerade has inspired in them. It is intended to be a place to read about interesting thoughts on the World of Darkness as it applies to V:tM and enjoy original fan fiction. It is intended to allow players to download goodies to enjoy personally and to aid in their gaming pursuits.
It is NOT intended to serve as a replacement for any White Wolf generated product. If you have come to this site hoping to find out what you need to know without having to purchase anything, you will be sorely disappointed. While this site offers much information surrounding the core system and atmosphere of the game, it does not offer any information on the rules or how to play.
If you need to test-drive these books before you invest in them, White Wolf has been kind enough to offer a 'Quickstart' guide on their website. They have reprinted some of the core system information on their site, and you can view this gift from them here: Vampire: The Masquerade Quick Start
Other than that, we will direct you to Vampire Tomes, a sister site with a VtM Bookstore, where you may read reviews of and purchase V:tM books through Amazon.com.
Furthermore, we ask that you, as a dedicated player, boycott sites that damage White Wolf by violating their copyright permissions. White Wolf is a company, and like all companies they must make money to survive. Sites that reprint White Wolf materials and offer them free of charge online or elsewhere are stealing potential revenue from the company, and lessening their chances to stay in bsuiness and continue to bring us more of the game we love. Remember - without White Wolf, there would be no Vampire: the Masquerade, and there would be no Sanguinus Curae. |
